Day 119

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my kids? My 4-year-old and 6-year-old, Levi and Aspen, went with my better half to the LEGO store to get presents for me. These are the newest additions to my collection, put together entirely by little hands and in combinations that I wouldn't quite have expected:

The kids were so sweet and so excited to see me open these that I feel bad taking them apart to use for parts! None of my minifigs stay intact, though, so I'm hoping the kids won't take it personally.

And now, on to your not-very-regularly-scheduled LEGO picture:

What good is roadside assistance if they can't help you find missing parts for a broken toy Yoda?

Day 81

They were celebrating 10 happy years together, proving that it was indeed possible for two people from warring factions to live in peace and hominy.

(And yes, it's a corny joke. :p)

Day 79

Clone Troopers don't mess around when it comes to pumpkin-carving.

Day 47

Ahem. A public service announcement, courtesy of your friendly Captain Obvious:

It does no good whatsoever to stay up late to take a picture, edit said picture into a nice little file, upload the aforementioned file to your photo site, compose a caption, and put it all together as a blog entry. If you then neglect to click on the little orange button link entitled "Publish Post," your work will remain unseen.

That's all for this morning, thank you. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Vader was speechless but thrilled. Now if he could just figure out a way to pick it up, he could overthrow the Emperor and rule the Empire alone!

Day 46

Rushing to the surprise inspection, Buzz realized too late that he'd forgotten his helmet, and now his secret was out.

Day 24

Charlie was a nice enough guy, and he was well-liked at the Academy. His tendency to skip out on lower body workouts, though, had earned him the nickname Chicken Legs.

Day 1

Off we go, into the wild blue yonder...

OK, ok, not really. I've got the Air Force song stuck in my head after listening to a fireworks simulcast, and it seemed appropriate for a blog-launching. I've heard of, and seen, many examples of a 365-day photo challenge, but up until now hadn't ever considered undertaking one myself.

I love taking pictures. I may not absolutely don't have the skill level of a professional, and I certainly don't have professional equipment, but that doesn't stop me from snapping away! And unlike my children, minifigures are captive subjects who won't blink, pout, run away, or pull a little sister's hair as I take the picture, so this should be fun. I'll be using a Canon Powershot SX10, along with occasional color correction using Photoshop Elements 6.0.

So without further ado, here is Day 1.

C3PO was beginning to have serious doubts about this new propulsion system.
