Day 28

Today's picture may not make you laugh, but I know it will bring a smile to at least a few faces. I'm hoping that after four weeks straight of humorous photos, you'll indulge me for just a day without a play on words.

My cousin Micheal (no, that's not a typo!) is fighting cancer right now. She's nearly done with weeks and weeks of chemo, and will soon start a combination of more chemo with radiation treatment added. I'm not brave enough to shave my head completely in support of her brave fight and strong spirit, but this is my tribute to her as a show of solidarity. I'm so impressed with her inner strength and determination.

Bald is beautiful. Cancer stinks. Micheal, we salute you.

Day 27

Ack! Not only did I fall asleep too early last night, while trying to put one of the kids to sleep, but my computer also decided to be uncooperative and install some updates in the middle of the night. More specifically, updates that also required a restart of the computer, which meant that all of the cropping, color editing, and adjusting I'd done to the picture was lost forever. Ugh.

So, my apologies for not having this posted on the correct day. I'm planning on changing the posting date before I publish this, just so it will show up correctly in the archives. The photo itself was taken yesterday evening, so I haven't missed my one-per-day photo challenge. Whew!

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Jake froze in his tracks and stared in awe. In all his years as a hunter, he never thought he'd find the legendary Albino Croc in its natural habitat.

Day 26

Jennifer was very excited to go see her friends, out of state, all on her own.
She'd never traveled first class before.

Day 25

Despite local rumors that their new house was haunted, Joe and Rita had never had any problems, and they didn't believe in ghosts anyway. There were times, though, when Rita couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.

Facebook update

I'm on Facebook! Yay!

Well, yes, I joined Facebook a long time ago, and many of the Legoblog readers have found their way here through FB status updates or friends posting links. A good friend of mine suggested a fan page for the blog, and another good friend decided that it was a great idea, and now here it is!

http://www.facebook.com/pages/BreeAnne-Chadwick/227403160150?ref=mf

I am truly, truly grateful to everyone who has emailed the blog to their friends, signed up to be a follower, or mentioned the link in wall posts or status updates. It completely makes my day when I see it being passed around. There have been hits from 20 different countries now (!!!), and while I'm sure that some of them are spiders or other electronic non-people, I'm thrilled just the same.

Thanks for your support!

I just realized that I looked at the page but didn't join. How sad would that be if I wasn't even a fan of myself? Off to fix that error...

Day 24

Charlie was a nice enough guy, and he was well-liked at the Academy. His tendency to skip out on lower body workouts, though, had earned him the nickname Chicken Legs.

Sunday, July 26, 2009

Day 23

Clearly, Sue didn't know what she was getting into when she signed up
for the Ultra-Economy-Class Frequent Flyer Program.

Saturday, July 25, 2009

Day 22

Like many misfits without social lives, Joe's typical Saturday night consisted of staying home, eating popcorn, and watching a movie with the other nerds.

Friday, July 24, 2009

Day 21

She could smile about it now, but it had taken Carol a long time to be OK with the fact that all the aerobics classes in the world would not give her an hourglass figure.

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Day 20

Major Townsend knew, on his long climb to the top, that the last post commander had left some big shoes to fill, but he also knew he was up to the task.

Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Day 19

After a crummy day at work, Rebecca managed to hold herself together until she got home. She made it as far as the entryway before falling apart completely.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Day 18

Mike never felt like he got his money's worth at buffet restaurants. The desserts, though, were quite generously portioned.

Monday, July 20, 2009

Day 17

Alone in the dark, Indy finally admitted that he didn't have enough firepower.

Sunday, July 19, 2009

Day 16

Kevin didn't remember how he'd gotten home after his night out with the guys. The next morning, he woke up on his front doorstep feeling like he'd been run over by a truck.

Saturday, July 18, 2009

Day 15

"I love it, Tom, but I don't know if we should make an offer. It might be too much house for our little family."

Friday, July 17, 2009

Day 14

Run as she might, Sarah just could not make it back into the picture before the camera's self-timer went off.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Day 13

Carol was a firm believer in using Miracle Gro on all of her fruit trees, although harvest was more challenging when the cherries were waist-high.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Day 12

Support Position, Help Wanted: Golf with the pros, the ad said. Spend all day on the links. Charlie was learning his lesson about reading the fine print, because, of course, there's always a catch.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Day 11

"Fine, we'll flip for it. Tails, I get Bad Cop today."

Monday, July 13, 2009

Day 10

Jerry couldn't believe his luck. He'd heard of mail-order brides before, but this took things to a whole new level.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Day 9

The crew had been hacking through tall grass for three days. Although he didn't want to admit it, John was more than a little alarmed at the size of the droppings left by the mysterious animal they'd been tracking.

Day 8

Gina didn't know why she enjoyed reading the LL Bean catalog; after all, it was pretty much a given that nothing they carried would come in her size.

Friday, July 10, 2009

Day 7

One week down! Only 51 left to go.

Ruby had always pooh-poohed the rumors that quicksand lay hidden in the jungle. And if the hat was any indication, not even her guide was around to hear her eat her words.

Thursday, July 9, 2009

Day 6

At the end of a stressful day, Debbie relaxed by diving into a good book.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Day 5

Helen and Marcie finished sifting the flour, and moved on to step 2: separate two eggs. Of course, neither knew just how far apart to separate them.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Day 4

Steve scanned the pages carefully. Like most new recruits, he took Spy Training very seriously.

Monday, July 6, 2009

Day 3

Tommy took Gina's hand. He knew that she, too, could feel the magic as the full moon rose over Mount Commode.

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Day 2

So I'm quickly learning that my biggest problem will not be the actual taking of pictures, it will be finding time to sit down at the computer to get them posted. Me? Busy? NOOOoooooo...

"Quit dawdling, Karl. This is the last log bridge before we get to the treasure."
"Uh, Finn? Remember those giant bugs we outran? The ones you said couldn't climb?"

Saturday, July 4, 2009

Day 1

Off we go, into the wild blue yonder...

OK, ok, not really. I've got the Air Force song stuck in my head after listening to a fireworks simulcast, and it seemed appropriate for a blog-launching. I've heard of, and seen, many examples of a 365-day photo challenge, but up until now hadn't ever considered undertaking one myself.

I love taking pictures. I may not absolutely don't have the skill level of a professional, and I certainly don't have professional equipment, but that doesn't stop me from snapping away! And unlike my children, minifigures are captive subjects who won't blink, pout, run away, or pull a little sister's hair as I take the picture, so this should be fun. I'll be using a Canon Powershot SX10, along with occasional color correction using Photoshop Elements 6.0.

So without further ado, here is Day 1.

C3PO was beginning to have serious doubts about this new propulsion system.
